"All the PR that's fit to print"

Farrah Rochon, Deliver Me

To promote author Farrah Rochon's first book, Deliver Me--the third book in Dorchester's African American romance line, Buy The Book PR created a press kit, which included a press release, FAQ and bio. To make Farrah Rochon stand out in the crowded literary world, we worked together to find the differentiator for her book and discovered that hers was the first African-American romantic fiction novel to openly discuss post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans and used that news hook for outreach to the media. Independently, I created a media list of key targets and proactively pitched her book for review and the author for expert commentary. As her publicist, I also helped to build her web presence by designing her blog and creating an outline of topic suggestions for future posts, as well as designed and started her MySpace page and created an online store featuring her book cover and logo on items like postcards and t-shirts for extra publicity. During our work together, I also provided her with ongoing strategic council for conferences and book signings and gave feedback throughout the process of launching her book.

Reviews and coverage garnered for Farrah include a news blurb and photo in New Orleans City Business, an on air promotional giveaway with KFTZ 'Z103, Idaho's Number One Hit Music Channel,' and a 4 star review in the Romantic Times BOOKreviews--web and print.

According to Farrah Rochon, "Tara is the most kick-ass publicist on the face of the planet! She has a great mind for marketing and promotion, and more tenacity in her little finger than most people have in their entire body."
